James Jackson is Professor of Psychology, Health Behavior and Health Education at the School of Public Health at the University of Michigan, where he also is Director of the Institute for Social Research. Jackson studies comparative studies of immigration; race and ethnic relations; physical and mental health; adult development and aging; attitudes and attitude change; and Black American politics. He is currently directing "The National Survey of American Life" and the "The Family Survey across Generations and Nations" efforts.
