Martin Kohli is Professor of Sociology at the European University Institute (Florence), retired from the Free University of Berlin where he was professor until 2007. Prof. Kohli directs the Research Group on Aging and the Life Course (Forschungsgruppe Ahem und Lebenslauf, FALL). His work focuses on the sociology of the life course; generations and aging; family, labor markets and social policy; with special attention to comparative issues and to the emergence of a European society.
